how would you compare the quantizing between the roland mv 8800 and the akai mpc series. also can you lowet the bit rate on the 8800?

  • owlwink says:

lol @ 6.49 looks like he got 3 hands,i was freaking out there!

  • diggity13 says:

how do the sample play all the way threw without out holdin the pads or the hold button?

  • sh0ckwave06 says:

    Hot sample man.

  • BottomlineEntVideo says:

sorry for the delay reply Diggity…this is what you do.
    press instruments button
    press F5 for patch edit
press F5 again for partial edit
and under Amplifier on the work screen
    you will see A D S R
make sure the R level is a value of 127 you can also do this using the mixer level 8 and pushing it up.
If you are using Audio phrase makes sure it’s on trigger or drum in the pad play

Thanks for the help I need it that im kind of new with this mv 8800

  • randiddle68 says:

c.b., i’m gonna need ya help. first, how do you call up newly created samples that you’ve saved to the hard drive and then edit them? secondly, how do you time stretch without the samples sounding like sh¡t? any help is appreciated.

  • kaybronson100 says:

change the sample to ‘one shot’

  • kaybronson100 says:

i had the 2000/2000xl and now the mv8800 and the quantize on the mv is superior.

  • RUDOLPHLYRICS says:

does the mv8800 allow you to export your different tracks in wav to the computer or on disc?

  • BicksBoogieOne says:

    @RUDOLPHLYRICS
Is your MV hooked up to a mixer?
    or sraight to Speakers..?
if your using a mixer and your outputs can go to your DAW
    like Cubase or Pro-tools..
if not just burn it..the MV has an internal Cd Burner..

  • RUDOLPHLYRICS says:

aight man, i just got mine by ups today and it’s isn’t easy to use out the box. it’s a long way from the mpc in use. i know how to use a vs 2480 but it’s gonna take some time to master this.

  • HardcoreHDGamer says:

Can somebody just tell me how you would get a music file onto this? – I dont have one so I dont know how these things work but how would you get something to sample, within this machine?

    Thanks for any reply.

  • habensiemuschi says:

@HardcoreHDGamer you can put a cd in the mv and import from it to the harddrive or you connect your mv to the pc and import your wav files from the pc

  • HardcoreHDGamer says:

@habensiemuschi Ahhh. Well that is great. Seems nice and easy too. I am going to buy one of these soon, or atleast as soon as I can. I am trying to get into beat making and making my own instrumentals, I make my own now but with this, it seems like it would help a big deal.

Thanks for the reply mate, appreciate that.

One more question though, if you can get back to me on this. How about Importing from Vinyl? – I take it you would probably have some kind of cable to connect the two.

  • habensiemuschi says:

    @HardcoreHDGamer
this is no problem. the mv got a seperate analog phono input. you just need a stereo – cinch – cable. and than you can start to sample. just push one button to start sampling and push the same button to stop sampling. quick and easy

  • HardcoreHDGamer says:

@habensiemuschi Thanks for the reply again. I’ll take note of that cable.

These things really do seem to be the sh*t, pardon my french.

Again appreciate that, a lot of help.

  • habensiemuschi says:

hi, can you explain me, what i have to do that the choped patch will play till the end, when i push the pad. i dont get it. when i chop a sample and assign it to a patch and then press the pad, the sample stops when i stop pressing the pad. i thought it would be the hold-button, but it doesnt work this way. which setting i have to change, that it will play till the end or till i play another pad. sorry for my bad english, i hope you could understand what my question is. thanks

Hey peeps I’m a beginner on the MV8800, I just recorded a pattern in pattern mode and I’m trying to make a song out of it in song mode..I cant seem to assign my different sound patterns on the velocity pads in song mode so that I can organize my sequence. When I go to pattern list i only see one pattern which is all my sound patterns playing simultaneously…but I trying to separate the different sound patterns and assign them to each pad for song creation…PLEASE HELP.
