There are some sample based beatmakers (like myself) who take digging seriously. For us, it is a HUGE part of the process and it feels GREAT to find every sound in the beat. I think a lot of it has to do with the generation your from. I’m 32 and one of the rules from my school is “dig for your own”. Its about respect, ethics, tradition, paying dues, and most of all, fun. I’m guessing your a younger cat, or just started making beats, no?

  • CrazyManer says:

i take it seriously too, but even if u sample the drums or use the drum kit, no one from us is playing drums for real ok? and where you get those rules? have you some magic book? how to be the great producer that dont use the drum kits … ? Its not about respect and ethics … its about that i like the way i do it and i dont give a fuck what you thinkin about my style of production, and who cares how old am i? and who cares what are u saying? I DONT GIVE A FUCK, do it my way ;)

  • CrazyManer says:

damn man, im feel sorry for ya … you are just like jesus … YOU TRY TO SPREAD KNOWLEDGE AND YOUNG CATS DONT WANT TO HEAR IT … that so sad man … you should make a love song about it, or maybe it is because you, spreading knowledge that u have from ur mom to other kids … but that aint the way we do it … we do it the way we wanna do it, lay down to your fucking chair, and make beats with your fucking finded samples, and feel like a better producer if u are diging everything, PATHETIC ;)

  • SouthOx says:

lol, ok yeah there are rules you learn just by being in the culture and around people who do what you do. And my mom? Yeah I got knowledge from her vinyl collection when I was a kid. As far as me making a love song about it? Every song I make is showing love to the culture. So…like you said, you can “do it the way we wanna do it” and I will “lay down to my fucking chair and make beats with my fucking finded samples and feel like a better producer”.

  • CrazyManer says:

why are u still writing me? dont you fucking get it? I DONT GIVE A FUCK about what you say, i am not in some culture, i am living by my rules, in my home, so dont try to tell me what i should do … you know nothing about style ? Being different … its all about it, and its many ways how to do it … so fuck the rules, live like you want … its the same as with the law … fuck the law … fuck the rules, this is life … not chess

  • SouthOx says:

ok sir. (walks away with head down)

  • conmanduck says:

DITC its about the sounds you get and the warmth of the drums and the warmth of the record you cant recreate that if you want tru hip hop sound you cant buy that drum kit you have to search and find sick drum brakes sample them chop them up and make your owne beat. but you probably use a 808 kit and make tracks about a DANCE. if you dont dig you dont know what hip hop is, you know what HIP POP is and thats PATHETIC! USING A DRUM KIT SOUNDS LIKE SHIT those are the rules.

  • conmanduck says:

LIFE IS CHESS SON!!!!!! you gota make moves but your gona find shit if you dont think about the moves you make first.

  • CrazyManer says:

and again and again … i am saying you … WHO CARES RETARDS? I DONT GIVE A FUCK

  • conmanduck says:

if you dont give a fuck then you will never be any good at making beats you have to expand and try new things to be good at anything you do. shit prove me wrong send me a link to your beats put your money where your mouth is.

  • CrazyManer says:

and who are you to judge me? god of music? how can you say that when i use sometime drums from drum kits i will not make good beats? show me your work mr.knowledge, my music is here on my youtube profile ;) making beats aint just about where you get samples dude

  • conmanduck says:

  • CrazyManer says:
