i dont use reason but ive seen great results from people using the 32 with reason
probably best for you to stick with either reason or fl like omg said. even with an mpc its nice to have some other hardware or software to add into the mpc’s sequencer
thats all subjective. reason has no vst support without using rewire. personally i prefer vst’s over refills so i dont really mess with reason but it does come with nice sounds unlike fl. fl is a great program as soon as u toss all the stock sounds. cubase logic fl reason all do the same things when it comes down to it. its all just what your most comfortable with. ableton is also a really nice program
can you use this unit without the cpu?????
no u need a cpu to use the MPD if you don’t want to use a cpu get an MPC 1000 to 5000
would anyone say that the mpc 500 is a mixture of cpu and record usage? just wondering
@han549
no…
honestly, i have been using fl for years, and at first i thought the same, you can’t do anything with the stock sounds, so i download more.. but recently i have used the originals more then my new stuff.. it’s about how you use it. knowing how to change sounds and add effects.
some of the synths in fl are ok after you tune the fuck out of them but basically the rest of the sounds are garbage. even the synths it has really dont compare to the better vst’s out there. the presets are all awful so you have to tweak every sound which is just not time effective. once you mess with hypersonic 2 or any rob papen synths you never really want to go back to any stock fl synth. and dont even get me started on the drums
I <3 MPD 32
I've already tried it and I really want to bu one.
yo, sales man dude….. USE YOUR product!!!!! you demoed it alittle but for most people and for some parts me your tech jargon is to much. turned me off from buying it. youve got alot of emerging would be artists (myself included) that know their sh1t but are still learning
I found the Tech Jargon was perfect.
If you don’t like it don’t watch it.
Don’t act as if he’s acting smart, those are the actual terms used for sound & production.
missed the point dude. i understood. but for a newb, that was a terrible introduction to the product. thats what i was saying. and BTW, how can i know not to watch until i watch it? or do you have a youtube lame demo review site i can visit?
… Assuming that you “want” or “wanted” an MPD 32/24/18/16 at some point.
I think you’d know a little about music and fucking basic terminology.
Do you not own any sort of computer program for music like FL Studio or Reason???
read the posts. i dont think you get it. i was speaking for a newb, its an advertisement. there was nothing wrong with his use of jargon. but for someone interested in a controller with little exp that person would pass it by. he spat a bunch of tech spec without DEMOing. im in sales and thats the first rule of selling tech. thats all i was saying. yes, i have a list of soft/hardware i use but ill leave it at LOGIC. im sure youre having fun but this is more boring than the video.
now go away
Why the fuck do you automatically think it’s intended for inexperienced producers???
And, no you go away, stop acting as if this is intended for a large demographic
wait wait, i know how to solve this.
youre worse than my ex girlfriend
“youre right im wrong.”
now go away>>….?
I’m sorry man, I know I’ve been pissing you off here.
But there’s so many clues here that this isn’t for your average consumer
1) The Youtube account is called Akai “Pro” Video
2) The terminology used is so extensive, that any noob would instantly turn this video off.
Can you atleast understand what I’m saying man???
This is a great video and helped me decide to order one.
As for “FYICREW” – you are just wrong.
He’s not a salesman, he introduces himself as a “product specialist” at the start of the video.
He also plays the pads at the intro (demo) – he goes over the layout of the device (fantastic) – and he demos: “note repeat”, “time division”, and adjusts “pad sensitivity”.
Granted, he didn’t create a RAP beat like every other video about the MPD32 on YouTube but I’m ok with that.
As for the “jargon”. If you don’t know the majority of the jargon he uses than you shouldn’t be looking at spending $250+ for this tool.
dam his note repeat is perfect
dann doch lieber ne mpc!!!
Newsflash: Salespeople rarely have the title “Sales person”. It’s usually some corporate jargon like “Product Manager” or even “Product Specialist” plus a hundred others.
anybody know any cheaper drum machines than this one that can provide some good sound too?
This isnt a drum machine. Its a midi controller that triggers sounds that you assign on a computer/outboard sampler. Essentialy it can produce any sound you like
