lol more like worst beat producer @ end of vid!

  • Fraeg says:

I am looking at this and the Korg PadKontrol… their x-y pad just looks so sick… any thoughts about the two products???

  • JRRShop says:

The PadKontrol X-Y pad is pretty cool for creating interesting flam effects but you can create similar effects with the MPD32’s Note Repeat. Also, remember that nearly everything on the MPD32 is an assignable midi controller, including many of the buttons, so you really have a lot more control with it. All that said, the MPD32 is generally better for people doing hip hop and electronic music while the PadKontrol is generally better for people trying to simulate a live drummer.

  • Fraeg says:

thanks appreciate the feedback, I am just starting out with all this, and after reading some comments about the Akai pads sensitivity opted for the Korg, which plays into what you have said as I am a drummer looking to get into the electronic side of things.. once again thanks.

  • JRRShop says:

@Fraeg Congrats! Enjoy it! The MPD32 pads are excellent, every bit as good as the ones on the MPC’s and much better than the ones that were on the original MPD16, but you can’t go wrong with the PadKontrol pads, either.

  • Fraeg says:

    cheers, take care

  • MrHladysh says:

i just got a mpd32. but im wondering how i get the sound working. besides the mpd32, what else do i have to puchase to get sound. or could i just hook it up to my PC speakers?

  • JRRShop says:

The MPD32 is a USB controller so you’ll need a computer and some type of software instrument to get anything out of it.

  • MrHladysh says:

ya i have a pc computer and ableton live lite 6. but i dont know how to get the sound to work using a USB cord.

  • GODZILLAMANASS says:

@MrHladysh there are no sounds inside the 32…. lol it’s just a controller

  • mcclean420 says:

breaks down like this, MPD32 only produces sound WITH some sort of software open, if its on your computer and not open it wont make any sound, if you have ableton thats all you need, then the speakers through your computer will produce the sound from the MPD, however, dont use that long it will annoy you may i suggest getting something better like a peavey escort 2000, cheaper and smaller but MUCH more sound for ya!

  • poonmcnugget says:

ok well i just plugged in my mpd32 and the light is not on

  • JRRShop says:

The light should come on immediately. You may have received a defective unit. Did you purchase it from us?

  • agstefanos94 says:

Hello . can u tell me how to sort out pads 13,14 to loop my melody???/thanks

  • thizzboy99 says:

what’s with the pads? the timing is soooo off when i record on my fl studios. and the pads are so fucking hard to push. way harder than an mpc. wtf guys?

  • JRRShop says:

@thizzboy99 The timing is caused by your soundcard, you need to have one with quality low latency ASIO drivers in order to get good timing in FL. You can adjust the MPD32’s velocity curve to better match FL, that way you won’t have to push the pads so hard. The MPD responds exactly like an MPC in Cubase and Ableton.

  • kadeemstanley says:

i have a m-audio oxygen 49 v2 how can i use the mpd and the m-audio together with reason 4

  • davidmcvay says:

they should sponsor araabmuzik, youtube him

  • Chavez08able says:

MPD, Motif, Logic 8 Express. Have no idea how to sync midi from Motif thruMPD into Logic. I can start sequence from Motif but it is not on time.(slightly behind) WTF?

  • JRRShop says:

@Chavez08able You should sync your Motif to the computer, not the other way around.

  • chickenwrap3000 says:

do u need to plug it into a computer to use it or like can u make dubstep with it?

  • JahmBProducts says:

@chickenwrap3000 I don’t understand what you mean, you can make ANY type of music you want with it, be it dubstep, dnb, hip hop, electro etc. Yeah, you do have to plug it into the computer to use it. Did you watch the video at all?

  • JRRShop says:

@chickenwrap3000 You can make dubstep with it but it does have to be plugged in to a computer.

  • snubbs741 says:

so can you hook it up to a computer that has pro tools running and use it as a controller for making beats on pro tools?

  • JRRShop says:

    @snubbs741 Yes.
