cool video man thanks
MPC 60 is the SHIT!! must have one
Helo mr. sampleking
The MPC-60II wasn’t changed by Roger Linn. It was Akai’s cheaper version of the MPC-60 with a headphone jack and much cheaper case. Other than that , internally it’s the same machine as the MPC-60.
I enjoyed the video. No head-nodding just a good shot of electronic nostalgia.
Im getting one of these joints!
great one, thanks!
Nice video, very well explained. I like how on the MPC-60 and even 3000 you have that dedicated comand bit, bet they took it off on the MPC-2000 to save money, less buttons and all that bah lol
I heard from some where the MPC-60 has the same sound engine as the S900, is this true?
actually the groove and sound is slightly different from the original model as I heard.
SOunds little more crunkier while mk1 is little smoooooth.
Also the ROGER LINN groove is a little different.
But anyway it’s almost the same …
Oh, another difference is that the disk is DS. mk1′s dd diskettes are too hard to find these days…
Thank you
thanks.
yes i heard the same thing. i bought an S950 because of that. but the S950 was a golden era piece so i already trusted that it would make for a good purchase, actually better than i expected!
the infamous cash register.
AKA mpc-60mk2
Dj shadow rocked one of these, as well as many others.
part 2? 3? OI!
No filters!?!?
I’ve had a Mk 2 and still have my Mk1, they sound the same.
They are identical..the Mk2 is a Mk1 in a cheaper plastic case with a headphone jack.
The only time the swing is slightly different in both is when you instal the Roger Linn chips as it’s a bit much for the processor.
I went back to a MK1 as it has the metal casing with the leather armrest as opposed to the plastic mold look.
Both Machine’s rock and are the best drum machines ever imho.
great video. thanks man. if you ever get the time, could you answer this question: does the mpc60 ii lose any of the sound quality that the oroginal mpc60 had? I mean that “crunchy” sound it gives to your samples?
the s950 sounds way dirtier than the MPC60
They have the same sound engine, but the 950 has a variable sampling rate which can make it sound pretty clean or really grimy.
How do you add your own WAVs to the MPC60? What I mean is, you have samples on the computer but want to add them to this machine, how?
this looks fucking old as shit! haha
I’d kill for one of these mpc 60II’s
I’m an upcoming DJ and i dont want my beats to sound like that new shit. I want my beats to be a boom bap with battling loops, and make it sound real gutter. then scratch vocals for the hook
How much is this??? im gonna have a band tht is going for a “The Kills” sound plus ive always wanted an mpc60
