You can do more with Live 7 Drum Racks,Battery 3 and the Trigger Finger. If you want to sample from a record just buy usb turntable.

    MPCs look cool,thats it tho.

akai is fallin behind. this gimmicky synth peice of shit. i rock out on the 500 right now, but when i upgrade im really leanin towards an MV. i think roland is takin the cake right now. akai is going in the wrong direction. they really need to get this nearvous child the fuck outta there too and let somebody that can bang out some hiphop man the booth this shit is wack as hell. they are overcomplicatin this shit

  • loncaliproductions says:

This looks like pure unadulterated GARBAGE.

Akai have dropped the ball so badly with this one, there are like hundreds of software applications out there that surpass this:

    -BATTERY 3
    -ABLETON LIVE
    -LOGIC 8
    -FL STUDIO
    -TRACKITION 3
    -REASON 4

EVEN F***ING GARAGEBAND, WHICH IS FREE IS BETTER THAN THIS PILE OF JUNK.

AKAI are finished as a company.

i was gonna get one but changed my mind plus there taking too long to release it in the stores, so i got a mv 8800 , they do the same thing , doesnt matter to me

  • PilferMusic says:

I have no idea why everyone is slamming this thing. It appears to be a hell of a nice piece of hardware sampler… hell HD record plus a 20 voice va synth is a nice addition. Spend some time with this baby and I’m sure I would love it.

I wonder if I could get the drums to sample or bit reduce down to 8 bit or 12 bit. That’s one of the nice things I like about the MV

    cheers

i’ve always loved the MPC series, but as always, i bet this new piece will cost a shitload of money and force me to keep upgrading my original MPC2000 i bought in ’98.

  • MetalheadAj says:

the 2500 is perfect for me…..only thing really new is the synth shit and more effects on the 5000

  • schizoflux says:

Can the MPC5k edit the EQ parameters on individual samples?

  • romebx says:

damn that shit is crazy i love the 5000 the 808 kick boom is crazy on this shit and the preset synths too appregiator is nice on this as well…i recommend the 5000 to anyway mpc owner….if they want an upgrade!!

  • djsumowax says:

Looks like a pretty interesting bit of kit. Not sure if they can redeem themselves after the 4000s abandonment though. And despite the joys of standalone devices like this, I do question it’s relevance these days with of DAW and sample-playback software. At least Roland are attempting to find ways cuddle it’s PC/MAC nemesis’ with the MV-series though.

  • smokegreen2 says:

  • Shadapaga says:
