God bless you brother… I mean really. I purchased my MPC 500 3 weeks ago, and i got so frustrated with it, i started to take it back and get my money. I just had such a hard time learning it with all of that damn reading. Thanks alot man . Seriously.. You just don’t realize how much people need to see this.
yo bro how do u extend a loop uve done without losing what u made…say from 2 bars to 4 bars
press the params button and scroll through till it says “sequence legnth” and it will say now=2 and new=2 press the down cursor and change the number after new so it says 4 (four bars) then press do it
yo what can i do to sample a 30 second clip and chop just that 1 sample in to say like 8 samples and put them to each pad out of that one sample instead of recordin 8 seperate sample you know what i mean?
im gunna go ahead and assume you havent watched all my video’s and read the comments beneath. somewhere it says “dont waste my time asking me about things i have tutorials about” watch all of my tutorials THEN ask questions. obviously trim mode is where you set the slices. sorry 2 sound rude but im just overwhelmed by people who watch 1 tutorial and clog my inbox with useless questions, watch them all bro and youl be choppen samps in no time
thanks mate, cameras a bit shaky but this is basically a very useful intro to the unit, i found it very helpful
where can i get free samples for the mpc 500
off old vinyl records, or by playing an instrument into a mic and sampling that to your mpc. other then that most samples you find online arent royalty free so you can prety much be sued for using them, but you can purchase samples from sites like loopmasters and primeloops
yeh cool. this helped. I’m used to using computers and I find the tiny window extremely frustrating.
take to 1/4 inch jacks and run the MPC’s output to one of the channels or the auxillery input in the back of the mixer, run one of the mixer’s outputs to the input in the back of the MPC then run the other output from the mixer to your speakers.
treblemc..how can I contact you? I just got an MPC 500 and I can’t seem to pull any of the drum kits out of it..the basses, keys, or anything..how do I do it?
I only have one jack running from the mixer to the mpc how many more jacks do i need probobly one for the speakers and what else?
you need two for each chanel, one for left channel one for right channel
man fuck u. that didnt fuckin help at all. how the fuck do you fucking program your own samples on to pads. and my mpc 500 did a completely differetn thing than yours FUCk u. NOBODY KNOWS HOW TO FUCKING TEACH MPC 500 ON YOUTUBE.
Great work man. I love these videos, they’ve helped me a lot.
Haxe you tried the 2000xl? Sold mine as i felt it wasn’t as easy to use as i hoped. Wondering if the 500 is more simple to use.
@josephtsykes Yea i know man they give you all these bull shit videos then when you ask how to assign them to the pads there is no response and an mpc is fucking pointless if you can’t do that
why do my headphones feel like they’re not going in?
@HomemadeBeatsEnt are you really asking me this question? lol if im guna take time out of my own day to help you ask me some legitimate questions about the mpc. if you cant plug a set of headphones in the headphone input in the back well maybe using an mpc isnt such a great idea
they just aren’t fitting in the PHONES jack and i can’t hear anything when i play the demo songs. sorry
hello mate, i’ve got thank you for uploading this tutorial, but i’ve got one issue – i make a beat on the mpc and usb it across to my pc, play of from there and all the effects are gone. the beat sounds bland…is there some way around this?
@repentharlequinband so it plays without the effects? thats weird. try going Mode>Record (pad 4) then press DO IT and on the screen it should say “waiting input” then press Play Start and the beat should play but be recording itself at the same time, when thats finished you will have basically recorded your beat as a wav. file and you should save it into the mpc. then when you connect the MPC to your PC somewhere your beat will be saved as a wav. file, drag that file to your PC
@repentharlequinband also you may want to delete the beat as a wav. file from your mpc after its transfered to your computer as it will take up heaps of space on the mpc and slow it down
