Oh and thank you very much for the quick feed back. I’ll try what you said and see if it works. I’m just busting my brains on this one. Thanks again dawg.

Protools will make the tempo and the MPC will say EXT wear the tempo is at. it might just be easy for you to make your drum beat with the MPC first and then slave it to protools and set protools tempo the same as your MPC was, and then rewier reasons for your keys. Make sure you have your midi cables hooked up right. read the forms, you will find out. thats what I do is read alot, and then I be like oh! I got it.

Well I got everything working. “I think”. WHen I go to use and record on the mpc It is telling me I have to start the recording on pro tools. My question is, Is there a way to do it where I don’t have to hit record on the protools every time I record on the mpc? The other thing is I also noticed that the midi steps don’t show on protools. But i’m not sure if it’s supposed to. I would think it would but i’m not sure.

Other than that it all works together when you play it together. On the tempo i don’t see the EXT you were talking about. But it’s all been a big help.

  • rellfury says:

I need to know how to run my beat through protools with separate tracks for mastering without playing each instrument on mute. last time i went to the studio i had a beat that had abotu 7 different tracks recorded. we played each instrument back untill he had the whole beat in protools then he mastered it. how can i make this process easier?

  • slimmivy says:

it depends on how many inputs your interface have and how many outputs the intruments you are using have,

I have been watching all your tube video and they are very educating. Could you please tell me how I can sync up my 2500 with my digi 003 and how I can run all eight out into VF160 fostex into protool via adat light pipe. thank you

Good lookin, my dude. you just saved me money, duke.

  • spragga343 says:

this video is awesome! there is one thing that you also need to check if your mpc4000 is not being triggered by the protools once you’ve set it up. Under the multi key there is a midi screen. You have to make sure that the program your using is turned on!!!!!! if it;s off your not recieving info on a midi channel. Hope this helps someone!!!!

  • sanman4733 says:

Yo!…I got a Korg Triton with Pro Tools 8, and when track every thing in pro tools, loop the song, and press play, the song is like a half second off (late) at the start of the next loop. do you know what i need to do to get the time on point in pro tools?

  • slimmivy says:

make sure the tempoe on the triton and protools are the same, and make sure if the beat is 4 bars or 8 bars or etc.. make sure you set protools to the same bars as the triton loop.

  • sanman4733 says:

    Thanks!

  • IFuckedUrGirl says:

Is there any possible way to control the play/stop feature of my korg triton through some sort of software? My button broke. I’m running protools le 5.3.1….any help?

  • slimmivy says:

yes, I dont know to much about protools 5.3.1, but I know 7.0and up you can make protools the master and make the korg a slave go into your midi setup in protools and the korg, when you push play and stop on protool transport the korg will play and stop, with protools being the master.

  • IFuckedUrGirl says:

ok cool man, appreciate the info and quick response. thanks.

  • DJYNOT2 says:

    The beat was hot squad!!!

  • rofthorax says:

    You need screencasting software..
For windows take a look at Camstudio..

Also if you lack video editing software, check out blender 3D. It has a video sequence editor that can be used to compose and render videos. That’s what I use when I have to edit videos.
Blender 2.48a is the good one for video editing. 2.49b is flawed.

What I use for most of my screencasting is not a windows program, I wish there was a windows equivalent but it’s called gtk-recordmydesktop, it’s for (Ubuntu) linux.
