roger linn invented the mpc. there´s no difference between the mpc3000 and the mpc3000 limited edition except the color and the floppy/zip drive.
you just repeated what i said, but there is a difference the components are better, the compression on the Roger linn edition is by far supreme.
no one can match my 3000 Roger Linn limited edition when it comes to the warmth and compression. RL Edition is just his components and his original version, Akai have taken his work, funded it and developed it but its the hardware and whats inside that matters and unless you process sounds through it your not using its compression abilities anyway.
where do you know this from? may you send me links with infos about it? do you have the possibility to upload a comparison example?
i believe its the MPC 60, not the 3000. is there a site with this info?
yeah your right the MPC 60 is the same situation. The MPC 3000 which were Roger linn limited edition machines (if you got them editions) they were originals with his signature on, better components inside and tweaking, I use to follow all of Roger linns work more than Akai’s because I know its more about what Roger linn does than it is Akai plus he’s English so it was just general knowledge for me from experience and others who i know who work with these drum machines. I’m sure its researchable.
I kinda agree man. I know Roger Linn is the brainchild behind the MPC. He is an actual producer and plays instruments. Akai…runs with it. Which is why if you notice Akai’s improvements are based off of hearing ideas from producers who use their product. Roger Linn created em knowing how he wanted em to function as he used em personally….
Thats exactly it yeah, This is why the MPC 60 and 3000 (special editions) are renowned for being so good because they were made by Roger Linn’s standards not Akai’s. I’ve been following Roger Linn’s stuff for years most people have been following Akai’s.
nice work bro…i use that same under/over technique on the sp1200. peace
you know where i can buy one? i really want to get one! any webstore?. thx
@SHAOLINSINZ All mpcs 60 and 3ks were designed by linn.. he then left akai… akai put out some other mpc models… and thats where ur theory applies… the 3k and 3k LE are the same and they both have roger linns name just next to the unit model number on top of the screen… double check ur info
if thats what you think
i know from experience i don’t care about your opinions.
il a gaché la mélodie avec son beat dommage car la mélodie est superbe
i REPEAT: THIS is just a simple demonstration video how a mpc 3000 works and nothing else. i know that the drums are not nice, but that´s not important if you just want to show how a mpc3000 works.
very deep. nice demo.
yes we all know the drums could be better if it were strictly instrumental but it could prove dramatic with someone on this
but then the only person i could ever hear on this is Nas
cool vincent, thanks! hier zeigen’s snoop dogg, fredwreck, dj muggs und kollegen auf der DVD #west coast theory – vom beat zum hip-hop
Does the mpc 3000 have a zip drive diffrent from the mpc 3000 le
whats wrong with fruity loops?
Dont believe the myths
What’s the sample?
@Mun0z387 / This is real gear. Stand alone. The MPC60 is famous for it’s 12 bit sound. Sample a record in to a 12bit 440khz recorder and poof, you have gritty hip hop. The MPC 60 is the original hip hop sound. Fruity loops is sample based software. The beauty of hardware, especially hardware as unique as this are the limitations. Put it this way, a doorknob is really good at being a doorknob, its not good at being the entire door.
@MrFyu Some people have no idea, they just don’t. How many people have ever used one of these? None of my friends have ever owned one, but everyone of my friends has ripped off FL studio at one time. I am however not disagreeing with you
why everybody brining up fl studio?…of curse this has better sound fl sound sucks atleast compare it with something like pro tools or logic or even cubase
@vincentfries lol!! poor wincey… never mind him. love ya brutey
@vincentfries There is a real difference in compression the Linn edition is much better and more full/warm sounding
9th wonder used fl studio so stfu
Sorry if this is a silly question, i’m very new to this. But is that instrument a sampler or synthesizer and the sounds you’re making – does it come preloaded in the synthesizer/sampler or do you have to upload sounds to the instrument?
Thanks
