This video motivates me to keep makin’ beats to this day…
One day I found this video and realized that Pete is using the same technique on the MP as I did (And naive as I was, I tought that I am the first one)
I own a 2000xl SE3 too.. Pete Rock is a genius!
shoutout to future music magazine for this video!

I mean..
someday…
damn.
Anyone know the beat he made in this video?
the intro beat
master!
1:08 how does he manually speed it up w/o time shifting or tuning up?
Peace ta Pete Rock..I heard that Sadat X joint..on that EP…
Nuff Respect…
MAJESTIC
@cap0n3 temp
because it’s cut up into itty bitty little pieces..so he’s playing a looping sequence of said pieces..therefor he can change the tempo without artifacts.
got numark tt500 and heat is not that much…it is quite similar to ttx.best buy anyway guess that would be a vestax…!
Yeah because it’s not a single loop and rather a bar cut into 8th’s all that speeding it up does in play less of each sample. Clever idea becasuse you don’t notice the chops.
is the beats in the intro from mpc 2000 xl?
