You cant do something wrong with it, i love mine. But for a beginner Synth i woulkd recommend the Juno 60 or 106, there you have sliders and knobs. It's from 1983 yeah so it was Rolands FIRST synth to have MIDI, this means MIDI implementation is ***** also everytime you turn it on it defaults to OMNI on which is annoying; the only way you can turn that off is by patching a midi lead from the in to the out and playing 6 notes. Been lookin for a poly61m forever, but they don't come up often I hear. I don't want to go for a poly61 as it has no midi. So I'm looking into the jx-3p as I hear it's similar, plus has midi.
